A trumpeter became a prisoner and was sent to be hanged. He cried for mercy. "Everybody, I am not to blame. I didn't kill anybody. I just blew a trumpet in the battle." He cried as the hangman answered coldly, "That's why you have to be hanged. You made people fight."  Hearing his words, the trumpeter hung his head in shame. 

나팔수의 항의 

전쟁에서 잡힌 어느 나팔수는 죄인이 되어 교수형을 당하게 되었어요. 그는 자비를 구하며 울었어요. "여러분, 저는 비난받아서는 안 됩니다. 저는 아무도 안 죽였어요. 난 단지 전투에서 나팔을 불었을 뿐입니다." 그는 울부짖었고 교수형 집행관은 차갑게 대답했어요. “그래서 당신이 교수형을 당해야 하는 겁니다. 당신은 사람들을 부추겨 싸우게 만들었잖아요.” 그의 말을 듣고 나팔수는 수치심에 고개를 숙였다.​
